    Is a team approach to resolving conflict out of court. With the assistance of a family professional and, sometimes, a financial professional, we identify what is important to you and your family, understanding your family’s unique situation. We then negotiate and finalize a legally binding agreement.

    Throughout the process, I advocate for you to ensure that we address your core interests and concerns.

  • Negotiation

    We inform clients of their legal rights and obligations and provide a wide range of options to resolve their family law concerns through negotiation with other lawyers and parties.

    We take a compassionate but firm approach to negotiation, so that you can finalize an agreement that will protect your interests, while, at the same time, not adding to an already conflictual process.

  • Mediation

    Is a voluntary way to resolve disputes with the assistance of a neutral third party.

    Rod is an accredited mediator with the Ontario Association of Family Mediators. He approaches mediation in a neutral and compassionate way to achieve the best result for your family.

  • Limited scope court work

    We provide a wide range of assistance for individuals that find themselves in the court process, including:

    • Drafting pleadings and court documents,

    • Representation at conferences and motions, and

    • Ongoing litigation coaching.

  • Independent legal advice

    We explain your legal rights and obligation and advise client on agreements prepared by other lawyers and kitchen table agreements drafted by parties.

    We take the guesswork out of whether a court will overturn an agreement by providing you comprehensive and knowledgeable advice.

  • Wills and powers of attorneys

    We assist clients with their estate planning needs.

    A properly planned and signed Will ensures that their wishes will be followed after they are gone.

    Some individuals will lose the capacity to manage their property and/or personal care at some point in their lives. In the event of a capacity issue, a power of attorney allows a loved one to manage the property and/or personal care of another. We assist clients plan and sign powers of attorney.
