I’m Stephanie, articling student at East City Legal.

After working with East City Legal as a legal assistant for the last two years, I am thrilled to be completing my articling term with the firm. My journey into law began in Ajax, where I grew up and attended Pickering High School. I completed Trent/Swansea Dual-Degree Law Program, spending two years at Trent University Durham and three years at Swansea University in Wales. I returned to Canada to complete my final year at Trent University in Peterborough, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Gender and Social Justice. Thereafter, I successfully completed the National Committee on Accreditation process.

Throughout my employment at East City Legal, I’ve been fortunate to work closely with Rod Grierson and Aaron Huizinga, gaining hands-on experience in the legal field of family law and developing a strong foundation for my future legal career. I’m passionate about advocacy and committed to helping clients navigate the legal system with care and confidence.

I chose to pursue a career in law to help break down stereotypes about the legal profession and to be a part of changing the narrative around who lawyers are and what they do. My goal has always been to provide meaningful support to individuals navigating the legal system and to improve access to justice for those who need it most.

Outside of work, I enjoy an active and social lifestyle. In the summer, you can often find me in or on the water, enjoying everything from boating and tubing to paddleboarding. I’m also a big movie enthusiast, a puzzle lover, and I never say no to a game night with friends.
